The Book Nook had a very successful book and bake sale in December; thank you to all the friends who contributed baked goods for the sale. We earned over $600.00, which will be helpful with our ongoing support of the library and its programs.   Remember that the last week of each month, all hardback fiction at the Book Nook is half price. We receive new donations every day, so be sure to stop by to see what we have available. You may have noticed that we are now selling our magazines for 25 cents each. This is a minimal charge, considering how much magazines cost at retail, and the additional funds will enable us to provide the library with the funds it needs for books, periodicals, programs, and supplies.   We are always in need of additional volunteers to help out in the Book Nook. If you are interested in volunteering, please stop by the library to fill out a volunteer form for the San Diego County background check required for all volunteers at county libraries.       More Book Nook News   Rare and Collectible Books   Please visit the Book Nook to see our latest collection of rare and collectible books. We have the 48 volume set of the 1886 Sir Walter Scott's Waverly Novels. We also have a lovely collection of highly valued Children's books illustrated by famous Illustrators such as Roy Best and N. C. Wyeth. Also some first edition Raggedy Ann and Andy selections. A recent large donation has allowed us to feature these rare sought after out of print books.
